Movie Seats App
GOOGLE CERTIFICATE PROJECT
ROLE: Graphic Designer
SUMMARY: MovieSeats aims to provide an easy way for movie goers to choose their seats in the movie theater to create a more enjoyable experience.
USER INTERVIEWS: I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand the users I’m designing for and their needs. A primary user group identified through research was busy families that want to enjoy movies with their family, but aren’t able to get to the movies early enough to get the seats they want to enjoy their experience. This user group confirmed there was a need to reserve seats at the theater for convenience. In my findings users also wanted to see indicators of exits in the seat selection map. Users also wanted to further their experience and convenience by being able to order concessions ahead of time.
USER JOURNEY: I mapped out the user's journey as they made the decisions on their way to end up at the movie theater to watch a movie.
INITIAL DESIGN PHASE
WIREFRAMES: I created wireframes to best show the ideas of how the app will function
USER TESTING
I conducted two usability studies first using my low-fidelity prototype wireframes, then using the high-fidelity prototype with mockups.
MOCKUPS
I incorporated user feedback into the design of the mockups.
IMPACT
Users are able to buy tickets, choose seats, and buy concessions before arriving at the theater, making it easier to get the seats they wanted and saves time for users to enjoy their movie.
